Men’s Ministry

Westminster's Men's ministry encourages men to know and grow in the love and work of Jesus Christ. We explore how the love and work of Christ apply to the current challenges facing men. And there are a lot of challenges! Some challenges involve basic questions what it means to be a man, or what it means to be masculine, or what it means to be strong. As we explore these questions and share our struggles, we remind each other to look to the Cross of Christ for real strength and affirmation that we are sons of the Living God. We are adopted in Christ the King, and our loving Father knows our names and invites us into deep communion with him.

If you're thinking about men's ministry at Westminster, please know that we would love to have you visit us for one of our gatherings. We'd like to get to know you, encourage you, and to be encouraged by you.

We are excited to announce the beginning of a new focus for men’s group:  the Means of Grace Bible Study. The goal of this study is to explore not only the sacred, but the ordinary ways God has made it possible for us to better understand and experience the blessings of his covenant love and the Gospel.

In the first week the focus was work – our jobs and professions.  We looked at how God uses work to create opportunities for us to experience his grace in the Gospel. We traced how work was designed for a good purpose, was corrupted through the fall, is being redeemed by Jesus now, and looks forward to a perfect form of work in the new heavens and new earth. By studying God's big picture for work, we learned how God can use our work right now to teach us more deeply about his love.

In April we will look at the other side of work and see how rest is another way to get to know God’s love for as means of grace.  In coming months we'll look at other means of grace such as: friendship and fellowship, family, baptism, prayer, singing and music, beauty, preaching, marriage, parenting, and others.

In each of these studies, we will look how these ordinary things teach, demonstrate, signify, seal, show, and encode grace - specifically the grace that God gives us through the gift of his son Jesus Christ in his life, death, resurrection, and present rule and reign over the world.

Men’s Group: The Means of Grace Bible Study

Men's group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM at WPC. We send out a study about one week before the meeting of the men's group.  The study usually takes about one hour to complete. But if you don't have time, please don't ever let that be an obstacle that keeps you from joining us. We look forward to seeing you next time and growing with you in grace!
