  • douglas sean o'donnell, senior pastor


    Doug was called to Westminster as the Senior Pastor in 2017. He is the primary preaching pastor, provides vision for the church, and, along with the session, shepherds God’s people.  Doug was born and raised in Addison, Illinois. Recently, he served as the senior lecturer in Biblical Studies and Practical Theology at Queensland Theological College in Brisbane, Australia. Pastor O’Donnell has authored, edited, and contributed to a number of books, including two children’s books, six commentaries on the Bible, and The Pastor’s Book with R. Kent Hughes.  Doug is also an instructor for Charles Simeon Trust.

    Doug was converted to Christ in his late teens and has served in pastoral ministry for the past twenty-plus years. He is married to Emily and they have five children. Doug enjoys good coffee, long walks, reading poetry, cheering for the Big Ten, watching the NBA, and beating his family in Knock-Out.

  • Stephen Lynerd, Director of Worship and music


    Originally from New York, Stephen received a M.M. from The University of Maryland, College Park.  During post graduate studies at SUNY Purchase, Stephen moved to Texas and served in the music ministry of Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco.  He has also served at Valley Springs Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Sacramento, CA, Holy Trinity Church in Chicago, and First Baptist Church in Downers Grove, IL.  Stephen also tours and records as a jazz artist leading his quartet, The Stephen Lynerd Group, in addition to freelancing as a musician in and around Chicago.  Stephen toured for 9 years as drummer and solo percussionist with Tim Zimmerman and The King's Brass, as well as The Dallas Brass.  He and his wife Deborah, a teacher, live in Elgin, IL.

  • RObert Lee, Youth Intern


    Robert serves as our Youth Ministry Intern at Westminster. In this role, he helps oversee and lead all things related to the discipleship of the youth. In addition, as an intern, Robert meets regularly with the pastoral staff to receive instruction and guidance on how to shepherd God’s people well. Robert grew up in Joliet, IL. At eighteen years old, our Lord Jesus rescued him from a path destined for destruction. From that point forward, God implanted a burning passion within him to preach the gospel and shepherd the body of Christ. To fulfill God’s call, Robert has served in youth ministry, preaching the Bible and discipling students ever since. In addition to serving the local church, Robert will be completing his B.A. in Biblical Languages from Moody Bible Institute in the near future. Robert and his wife, Tiffany, live in Joliet (where they grew up and met) with their son, Levi. Robert enjoys reading, basketball, weightlifting, and good conversation over fresh brewed coffee.

  • Marcia Turpin, Children's Church coordinator

    Marcia is a follower of Jesus, wife to Tim, and mother of five children.  She has a degree in elementary education from Northeastern Illinois University and has had the privilege of working in children's ministry for over fifteen years.  The joy of sharing the truths of God's Word with young hearts and minds never gets old!  She considers it a great honor to serve the Lord through ministering the love of Jesus to children and their families.
