sunday march 29

As we come into God’s presence together this morning, we come as a people scattered throughout the county worshiping in our homes. Even still we are one people, worshiping the one true God. As you work through this liturgy at home, take your time with it. Read through the texts slowly, sing the songs and spend time in prayer, so that the peace of God may dwell richly within you. Let us worship the Lord together.

call to worship

Read Revelation 7:9-17 responsively:

Leader: I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. And they cried out in a loud voice:

Others: Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb.

Leader: All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures. They fell down on their faces before the throne and worshiped God, saying:

Others: Amen! Praise and glory and wisdom and thanks and honor and power and strength be to our God for ever and ever. Amen!

Leader: Then one of the elders asked me, “These in white robes—who are they, and where did they come from?” I answered, “Sir, you know.” And he said, “These are they who have come out of the great tribulation; they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. Therefore [let us together shout of our salvation!],

All: “They are before the throne of God

and serve him day and night in his temple; and he who sits on the throne
will shelter them with his presence.
‘Never again will they hunger;
    never again will they thirst.
The sun will not beat down on them,’
    nor any scorching heat.

For the Lamb at the center of the throne
    will be their shepherd;
‘he will lead them to springs of living water.
‘And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.’”

hymn - All Creatures Of Our God And King

silent confession

This week we will be combining the corporate confession of sin and assurance of pardon using the words of Andrew Peterson's song, "Is He Worthy?". Before we confess our sin and brokenness as a people, let's take some time to silently confess our personal sins to God.

confession of sin and pardon

Do you feel the world is broken?  (We do)

Do you feel the shadows deepen?  (We do)

But do you know that all the dark won't stop the light from getting through (We do)

Do you wish that you could see it all made new?  (We do)

Is all creation groaning?  (It is)

Is a new creation coming?  (It is)

Is the glory of the Lord to be the light within our midst?  (It is)

Is it good that we remind ourselves of this?  (It is)

All: Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?

The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave, He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave. Is He worthy? Is He worthy of all blessing and honor and glory? Is He worthy of this?

He is!

Does the Father truly love us?  (He does)

Does the Spirit move among us?  (He does)

And does Jesus, our Messiah, hold forever those He loves?  (He does)

Does our God intend to dwell again with us?  (He does)

All: Is anyone worthy? Is anyone whole? Is anyone able to break the seal and open the scroll?

The Lion of Judah who conquered the grave, He is David's root and the Lamb who died to ransom the slave.

From every people and tribe. Every nation and tongue. He has made us a kingdom and priests to our God to reign with the Son.

Is He worthy? Is He worthy?

He is!

The Lord's Prayer

Conclude your prayers with the Lord's Prayer.

Our Father, who art is in  heaven,

hallowed be they name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done,

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts,

as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation

but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.
