Dave graduated from Dordt College with a degree in elementary education. He then pursued a master's in counseling and an M.Div. from Covenant Seminary. Jan graduated from Trinity Christian College with a business degree.
Dave and Jan met while Dave was a teacher in the Chicagoland area. Both developed a love for missions through various short-term mission trips. The Veldhorsts later joined the MTW church-planting team in Chiba, Japan and served there for two years.
Dave and Jan Veldhorst and children are working as team leader in Bangkok, Thailand. The primary goal of the MTW-Thailand team is to recruit, train, and release indigenous Thai leaders to plant new center-city churches that will have the ability to impact the city of Bangkok and the provinces within Thailand. It is the Veldhorsts' goal to establish an Urban Training and Development Center, where Dave can use his past training in counseling and pastoral ministry to train future leaders and provide much needed Christian counseling in Bangkok.
The team's motto is "Transforming...Hearts, Lives, Society." Please pray for the Veldhorsts that God will use them as a family to minister in center-city Bangkok.
